Ce mérite a été créé en 1997 afin de rendre hommage à un club, une organisation ou une personne qui a contribué à la promotion de la voile récréative au Canada.
Le club, l’organisation ou la personne dont la candidature est proposée pour ce mérite doit être établi au Canada et affilié à Voile Canada.
