Leg 2 done for Whiskey Jack at Globe40 ⛵ Deuxième étape terminée pour Whiskey Jack au Globe40

Whiskey Jack and Canadian sailor Melodie Schaffer finished the second leg of Globe40 in 8th place out of eight boats on Tuesday. With crew member Julia Virat from France, Whiskey Jack completed the second leg between Mindelo, Cape Verde, and Reunion Island in just under 40 days. The start of the third leg between Reunion Island and Sydney, Australia, is scheduled for Saturday, November 22.

Deuxième étape terminée pour Whiskey Jack au Globe40
Whiskey Jack et la navigatrice canadienne Melodie Schaffer ont terminé mardi la deuxième étape du Globe40 en 8e position sur huit bateaux. En compagnie de la membre d`équipage Julia Virat de la France, Whiskey Jack a parcouru la deuxième étape entre Mindelo, au Cap-Vert, et l`Île de la Réunion en près de 40 jours. Le départ de la troisième étape, entre l`Île de la Réunion et Sydney, en Australie, est prévu pour le samedi 22 novembre.

Gold medal for the RMC Paladins Sailing Team in Chile ⛵ Médaille d`or pour l`équipe de voile des Paladins du CMR au Chili

A Canadian team, including Cailem Austin, Isaac Jones, Elliot Loiselle and Camdyn Morris, and representing the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC), won gold and bronze medals at the Off Valparaiso Regatta 50th Anniversary held October 17-20 in Chile, where military colleges from around the world send their finest sailors. Competing in J24, the team finished in first place out of the Naval Academies Class and third overall in the J24 class.
Among the crew members, Cailem Austin is a Hudson Yacht Club (HYC) Junior sailing alumni, and Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) officer in training. He helped coach, captain and skipper this year`s RMC`s Paladins Sailing Team in the Canadian Intercollegiate Sailing Association (CICSA), before being asked to represented Canada in Chile. Congratulations Cailem and good luck in your aspirations to become an astronaut, which first requires pursuing the goal of becoming a fighter pilot in the Canadian military!

Médaille d`or pour l`équipe de voile des Paladins du CMR au Chili
Une équipe canadienne composée de Cailem Austin, Isaac Jones, Elliot Loiselle et Camdyn Morris, représentant le Collège militaire royal du Canada (CMR), a remporté les médailles d`or et de bronze lors de la 50e édition de la régate Off Valparaiso, qui s`est déroulée du 17 au 20 octobre au Chili et à laquelle participent les meilleurs navigateurs des collèges militaires du monde entier. En compétition dans la catégorie J24, l`équipe a terminé première de la classe des académies navales et troisième au classement général en J24.

A Canadian Sailor took part in the 2025 Regatta of Champions, an invitation-only regatta created in 2022 in Optimist sailing bringing together the very best young sailors from around the world. Will Keilty from Kingston, ON, took the 4th position out 44 sailors following the 25 races held November 4-8 in Limassol, Cyprus. It was the first time in the history of this event that a Canadian sailor was invited to compete. �

Un athlète canadien en voile a participé à la Régate des champions 2025, une régate sur invitation créée en 2022 dans la catégorie Optimist qui rassemble les meilleurs jeunes athlètes du monde entier. Will Keilty, originaire de Kingston, en Ontario, s`est classé 4e sur 44 participants à l`issue des 25 courses présentées du 4 au 8 novembre à Limassol, à Chypre. C`était la première fois dans l`histoire de cette compétition qu`un athlète canadien était invité à y participer.

Tickets for the Canada Sail Grand Prix | Halifax, to be held June 20-21, will be available on presale starting Monday, November 10 at 10am (Halifax time), until Wednesday, November 12 at 6pm (Halifax time). To do so, you need to sign up to SailGP+ (👀🔗 Bio). Then, the General Sale will open Thursday, November 13, at 12pm (Halifax time). A launch event will be held Thursday, November 13, at 9am (Halifax time), at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, Waterfront Side. Everyone is welcome to attend!

13 boats at the 2025 Championship of Champions Regatta ⛵ 13 bateaux à la régate Championship of Champions 2025

A total of 13 boats took part in the 2025 Championship of Champions Regatta, held November 1-2 at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club. This competition started in 2023 and aims to bring together the strongest possible field of sailors in a fleet of Elliot 6 Metres, with the goal of generating excitement for high-performance one design sailing. Congratulations to the team of Richard Clarke, Alec Coleman and Jack Porter (RVicYC), gold medal winner, followed by the team of Luke Ramsay, Andrew Wood and Richard Minielly (RVYC), and the team of Alyosha Strum-Palerm, Tim Scanlon and Julia Mamen (SYC/RVYC). The competition also included some familiar names, as Canadian Sailing Team members Antonia and Georgia Lewin-LaFrance, NorthStar SailGP Team member Annie Haeger, and former Lightning World Champion David Starck.

Un total de 13 bateaux ont participé à la régate Championship of Champions 2025 qui s`est déroulé les 1er et 2 novembre au Royal Vancouver Yacht Club. Cette compétition, lancée en 2023, vise à réunir les meilleurs navigateurs dans une flotte d`Elliot 6 mètres dans le but de créer un engouement pour la voile monotype de haute performance.
