The 2020 Laser Radial Worlds wrap up in Melbourne, Australia

The 2020 Laser Radial Worlds saw an interesting week of sailing in Melbourne, Australia. With varying conditions throughout the week, from the very light winds on the first two days through thunderstorms to 25 knots with big waves, it was a trying event for our Canadian women.

At the beginning of the regatta, Sarah Douglas stayed in the pack of leaders keeping within the top 10 of the fleet. Once the conditions started to change with the big wind gust and waves, it was difficult for all sailors to keep their momentum.

Finishing in 27th overall, Sarah Douglas leads the Canadians in the first part of their selection trials for the Canadian Olympic Team for Tokyo 2020.

Clara Gravely and Maura Dewey kept to the top of the silver fleet, both placing a bullet in the last two races of the event. These Radial sailors cap off the event sitting in 58th & 59th overall followed by their teammate, Coralie Vittecoq in 62nd.
